About Money Clicker
Money Clicker is an incremental game built in Construct 2. You start with nothing but a big dollar sign on the screen: tap it and cash comes in. Spend that cash on upgrades that make each tap worth more or that earn money by themselves every second, and the totals start to climb from a few dollars to millions. The game's own goal, stated at the end of its tutorial, is to make you a billionaire.
There is no way to lose. Nothing takes money away, so the only question is which upgrade to buy next. That makes it a calm break between Bloxorz levels, when you want something that needs no thinking about angles or edges.
How the tutorial starts you off
The first time you open the game, a short guide walks you through the basics:
- Tap the big dollar to start making money.
- Keep tapping until you have earned $50 from taps.
- Use that money to buy the tap upgrade.
- Earn $1000 from taps.
- From there you are on your own, working towards your first billion.
Tap income and passive income
Money arrives in two ways. Tap upgrades raise what each tap is worth, with the first step taking you to $2 per tap. Passive earners, shown on the shop screens for buildings and stocks, pay a fixed amount every second whether you tap or not. They are listed by what they earn, starting at $10 / sec and $100 / sec and stepping up through $1 k, $20 k, $100 k and $500 k per second to the top earner at $1 b / sec.
Controls
- Mouse click / tap: tap the dollar to earn money
- Shop buttons: buy tap upgrades, buildings and stocks
Tips
- Early on, the tap upgrade pays back fastest because you are tapping anyway.
- Once a passive earner is affordable, buy it: its income keeps adding up while you tap.
- Compare what an upgrade costs with what it earns per second before you buy.
- The game pauses when you switch to another tab, so keep it in view if you want the passive income to keep counting.
- Progress is saved in your browser, so you can close the page and pick up where you stopped on the same device.
Achievements
Money Clicker has eight achievements to unlock as your fortune grows. They give the long climb a few checkpoints between the first $50 and the first billion.
